Previously, Mr. Shatic and Mr. Shreve were sailors that became marooned on an island close to the coastline of "JUMANJI", due to a misunderstanding. On the island, they met Captain Squint who washed up on shore with them after his previous battle with The Draken, where Shatic and Shreve became his followers and crew while they survived on coconuts and crabmeat.

When Alan Parrish, Judy and Peter Shepherds surface near their island in a submarinal vessel they stole from Professor Ibsen, the three sailors board the vessel and seize control by threatening the trio with force. Captain Squint explains that the three pirates intend to set sail for the legendary underwater city of Milkatunda, which they can do thanks to having the submarine vessel, since they have heard stories of sunken treasure lying within the city. Because the vessel is too advanced for the pirates to operate, they have Alan stay on the bridge to work the controls, and force Judy and Peter into cabin boy duties.

Later, Shatic and Shreve dine on the supplies in the ship galley, barking demands for the kids to bring them more food, since Peter had lost his previous position as first mate since the last time the trio sailed under Squint. Out of earshot, Shatic and Shreve begin wondering if Squint is mad in the head, but nevertheless are motivated by the treasure.

After Ibsen's vessel is destroyed by the pressure tearing the sip inside out, Squint and his two men manage to escape the sinking wreck and wearing diving suits left onboard, they follow the trio to the city of Milkatunda, threatening them to hand over the treasure to them. The three pirates lose their swords in the fight, but are hypnotically drawn into the ruins by a glowing light, and encounter two Mermaids with piles of shining gold and jewels. The men are overjoyed by the treasure and beautiful Mermaids, but regret their greed when the Mermaids reveal their true forms and vanish with the ruins.
