Jumanji board game (animated series)

The title card.

Jumanji is an American animated television series that was inspired by the movie based on the book of the same name. The series ran for three seasons from 1996 to 1999.

Synopsis[]

While the series bears multiple similarities and references to the 1995 from, it's continuity serves as an abridged retelling and makes unique changes such as the exclusion of Bonnie Hunt's character Sarah Whittle.

Like the 1995 film, the Jumanji game will suck everyone within it's perimeter (not just players that roll the dice) into it's deep, dark realm and provides a clue for them to solve and escape. Like the film, in the series it is revealed that Jumanji is sentient to a degree and on occasion has sucked in Judy and Peter and even Nora Shepherd if they make it "angry".

The first episode provided the characters' motivation during the series, when Judy and Peter first meet Alan Parrish who, was stuck in Jumanji because he had never read the instructions before playing or even seen his clue; therefore they decide to keep playing and help Alan try to find out his own clue to leave the game. They also learn important life lessons along the way which would coincide with what currently happens to them in Brantford.
