Fludgels are a small race of cute, diminutive Teddy Bear / Koala like beings, native to the jungles of Jumanji. Fludgels are one of the very few (if not the only) friendly and non hostile residential groups that dwell in Jumanji. They appear only but prominently in The Trial.
Behaviour[]
Fludgels are small (smaller than Peter) friendly Teddy bear-like creatures, that communicate through high pitched unintelligible squeals, leading to Peter calling his friend Eep "Eep" because he can't make anything else of his screeching. They may probably be the only Jumanji creature that is completely, non-debatably harmless, but they have an irresistible propensity to steal large, shiny objects which can land them in a lot of trouble.
Role[]
In The Trail, an unnamed Fludgel (perhaps Eep himself) unwittingly stole the Shining Orb in the first place without knowing the danger he put himself in, until Alan spotted him and warned him about the trouble he would get into and offered to save him by returning the orb: Alan quickly went to Trader Slick to buy a map to the orb's resting place, entered the cave while being spotted by Ibsen after crash landing his prototype gyro, almost placed the orb back but retreated when the cave began to collapse, being spotted by Van Pelt.
This chain of events and witnesses caused Alan to be arrested and placed on trail by the Primate Society of Jumanji when he attempted to return it. Alan omitted helping the Fludgels as an act of friendliness, but regretted it when both he and Peter were sent to Detention Island and then sentenced to death. Just before The Judge attempted to execute the main trio, a group of Fludgels arrive with a giant orb to buy their freedom, returning the favour since Peter freed his cellmate, Eep. Judy and Peter returned home due to solving their clue, missing the Fludgels and Alan laughing at the Judge being trapped inside the new orb.
